The work taught me what the title never could.

I came to software through the work of keeping systems useful. Networks, servers, databases, cloud infrastructure, and support all taught the same lesson: the technical work only matters when it helps a real person complete real work.

Public-sector technology sharpened that lesson. Reliability, access, recovery, security, and plain language are not separate from the product. They are part of what people experience, especially when the system matters most.

RodyWorks is my independent company and the most direct application of that experience. I build software, operate the infrastructure underneath it, support the people using it, and stay accountable for the distance between a promise and the running system.

Lompoc shapes the way I see the work. Public service, local business, education, agriculture, and aerospace live close together here. It is a good place to remember that technology is never abstract for the people depending on it.
